Actual US Poverty Twice Official Figure :Jeannette Wicks-Lim: According to official figures 15 percent of Americans live in poverty, real numbers are over 33 percent of Americans cannot meet basic needs
whoever runs this blog. Thank you for that. I know many people making about $55,000 a year in New York City and they are struggling. After taxes, all taxes including sales tax, etc.. it's hard. Thank god for cans of tuna and ramen noodles.
I myself skip 2 meals a day on about $80,000 because of the high tobacco taxes taking about $10,000 a year from me here in NYC. I am taxed if you include everything about 60%, living on about $38,000 cash a year in NYC. Luckilly I am single and can live a semi comfortable life, have kids and that's it no comfort. You get into debt and you become a slave to debt and bankers.
