Morally, I have nothing wrong with competing currencies or Bitcoins. Financially, I realize anything digital can be replicated ad infinitum. Not that Bitcoins themselves are readily counterfeitable, but that an influx of many digital currencies would devalue Bitcoins significantly. Besides which, there are already precious metal backed debit cards, which will only become more prevalent as time goes on. I think gold will inevitably have to be used as money to restore stability to the economy.
