Third Explosion Near JFK Library In Boston Police Press Conference

Two people have been killed and 23 injured after two explosions at the finish line of the Boston Marathon, police say. The blasts shattered the carnival atmosphere of one of the biggest sporting events in the US, causing panic and confusion. A third explosion occurred at the JFK Library in the city, Boston police have confirmed. The cause of the explosions has yet to be identified.

In the background of this John Kerry has confirmed US commitment that it will stand by its Asia regional allies after North Korea threatened to launch a military attack on Tokyo in reaction to major provocations by the United States military, which has been escalating tension between the two Koreas flying its nuclear bombers over the Korean peninsula. Washington has said it is taking North Korea's threats seriously.
