The department of homeland security bought enough hollow point rounds to supply police with 1000 more rounds per officer than the military has per soldier. They also have a crowd control vehicle with gun ports, a loudspeaker, teargas dispenser, reinforced battering ram bumpers, and 16 man deployment capabilities (all armed).....they cant fight an insurrection without their line guys and those guys come from the very families they would be suppressing so there would be a LOT of refusal of orders and the chain would break down. cops cant be troops. we cant be cops. its just premise of our mission statement. they can try a police state but to actually beat down the masses they need us to do it and most of us are not ok with that immoral order. some would be but theres bad eggs everywhere ya know?
