U.S. Homeless Population Continues to Rise

Liling Tan reports on a worrying nationwide trend of the steadily increasing homeless population in the United States

The Great Recession was made so great not only by the biggest financial meltdown since 1929, but also it was severely exacerbation by policies placed by George W. Bush. Not only did needless expansions in medicare, social security, and defense spending (Iraq and Afghanistan wars) drastically undermine the federal government's ability to "bail out" our economy via Keynesian means, but also Bush's deregulation of the financial sector has accelerated the widening division between rich and poor.
