"We call on Iran's leadership immediately to suspend its sensitive nuclear activities and abide fully by its international obligations," the European countries say in a joint statement. "Until Iran comes to the table, we will be united behind strong measures to undermine the regime's ability to fund its nuclear program." In response, the offices of Treasury secretary Timothy Geithner and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton issues the following statement, according to NBC News: "We welcome today's decision by the European Union to ban imports of Iranian crude oil and petroleum products, freeze the assets of the Iranian central bank, and take additional action against Iran's energy, financial, and transport sectors." "It's apparent that in this case there is open pressure and diktat, aimed at 'punishing' Iran for uncooperative behavior. Under pressure of this sort, Iran will not make any concessions or any corrections to its policies," the ministry says. Hollywood legend and Republican supporter Clint Eastwood told CNBC that Washington gridlock is sending the nation racing towards another contentious debt deadline. Theoretical physicist Michio Kaku returned to chat with Art Bell about civilizations, string theory, space missions and cosmology. He expressed enthusiasm for the Kepler Mission, a space telescope launching in 2008, that will be capable of detecting Earth-like planets in other solar systems. During its mission, it may reveal as many as 600 planets similar to ours, he noted.
String theory, which posits a vibrating multiverse, has come under criticism in some quarters. While Kaku conceded that it doesn't currently offer much predictive power, he believes the theory needs more time to be considered and validated. For instance, tests by the Large Hadron Collider in 2007 may reveal new information, he said.
Kaku also forecast into the far distant future when our universe will be dying out. At such a time, a Type 3 or 4 civilization (capable of manipulating huge amounts of energy) might construct a massive machine that could make space and time unstable. With an atom smasher the size of a solar system, he hypothesized it might open up a bubble ten light years across, through which our civilization could escape into another universe.

Kaku credits his anti-nuclear war position to programs he heard on the Pacifica Radio network, during his student years in California. For months, the White House has been leaking how President Obama "carefully" reviews a kill list (assassination) of alleged terrorists (and who knows what other troublemakers end up on the potential target list?). Off-the-record comments (and some on the record) are meant to reassure Americans that the president doesn't take the authorization of kills (with the attendant "collateral damage" of civilians and children if a drone strike) lightly, but seriously contemplates who ends up dead as a sanctioned hit. As has been repeatedly noted by commentators not dazzled by the assumption of extra-judicial death warrants, it is perplexing and dismaying that a Harvard Law School grad who taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago is showing such a lethal disregard for the nation's fundamental legal document. Deciding who shall live and who shall die is generally a power attributed to Gods in most religions; or one can go back to history before the birth of states founded on democracy, when tyrants and monarchs held absolute powers. The authority Obama has assumed without any legislative or court permission goes well beyond the Bush/Cheney torture protocol; this is a kill list, not just a rendition order. The condemning of a person to death without due legal process, without habeas corpus, violates the Constitution in the most fundamental way. In doing so, Obama is undercutting and eroding the most basic guarantee in our legal system, at a time when the tide, ironically, is turning against capital punishment in the US. A Washington Post article today that reveals a hither-too classified document that adds a chilling corroboration of what has until now only been the subject of strategic leaks (for which we might add, no one has been prosecuted because these classified leaks are meant to enhance President Obama's image as a tough guy): The United States can lawfully kill a US citizen overseas if it determines the target is a "senior, operational leader" of al-Qaeda or an associated group and poses an imminent threat to the United States, according to a Justice Department document published late Monday by NBC News. The document defines "imminent threat" expansively, saying it does not have to be based on intelligence about a specific attack since such actions are being "continually" planned by al-Qaeda. "In this context," it says, "imminence must incorporate considerations of the relevant window of opportunity" as well as possible collateral damage to civilians.

There have been a lot of different food fads and diets that have come and gone, said Vitalis, and people are really confused about what to eat. "Either by design or a grand pattern, there's a food conspiracy now," and people out there are starving to death, even though they keep eating and eating, he continued, explaining that many processed foods lack nutrients and are detrimental to health.
Artificial sweeteners like aspartame, and flavor enhancers such as MSG are particularly addictive, as well as unhealthy, said Colquhoun, which suggests to him that these additives are put into our food for economic reasons. The FDA doesn't really protect the consumers' interests, but rather, is there to facilitate various substances into the marketplace, he added. Vitalis addressed the problem of diet foods, noting that while they may have reduced calories, they have low nutrition. To lose weight, he suggested people increase their nutrient to calorie ratio. Colquhoun also talked about the problems of sugar being abundantly used in food processing and manufacturing, and the rise of GMO foods.
Vitalis outlined methods to detox the body including consuming whole fresh food, using saunas, and drinking clean water (preferably from a natural spring). He also advocated eating organic foods, shopping at local farmer's markets, or even growing your own food from heirloom seeds. Survivalism is a movement of individuals or groups (called survivalists or preppers) who are actively preparing for emergencies, including possible disruptions in social or political order, on scales from local to international. Nostradamus : The War with Iran Prophecy ~ John Hogue
Rogue prophecy scholar John Hogue discussed his new e-book Nostradamus: The War with Iran. He suggested that fundamentalist extremism underlies the thoughts and actions of leaders in Iran, Israel and the US, and they are being swept up in a kind of "messianic fever." A war with Iran could take place as early as this summer, he predicted.
Hogue argued that in the Six Day War (which recently had its 40th anniversary) the Israelis were right to stage a preemptive attack against their adversaries, but he does not see a similar situation with Iran, calling Iran's threats "hot holy air."

Michel de Nostredame (14 or 21 December 1503[1] -- 2 July 1566), usually Latinised as Nostradamus, was a French apothecary and reputed seer who published collections of prophecies that have since become famous worldwide. He is best known for his book Les Propheties (The Prophecies), the first edition of which appeared in 1555. Since the publication of this book, which has rarely been out of print since his death, Nostradamus has attracted a following that, along with much of the popular press, credits him with predicting many major world events.

Bill O'Reilly Defends NBC Drone Coverage Claim by Denying his Statements
2/7/13 - After writing last night about how Bill O'Reilly erroneously claimed NBC has ignored the drone strike Justice Department memo that NBC actually released, I was looking forward to seeing how O'Reilly could possibly explain away his claim tonight. Well, at the tail end of his program tonight, O'Reilly responded to the criticism by 1) attacking his critics, and 2) denying he said... what he said.
TVNewser was "tipped off" to the fact that O'Reilly would be responding tonight., and boy, did he respond in true O'Reilly fashion. He sighed as he explained how he has succumbed to "more deceit from the far left," saying that "these loons have been trying to marginalize me" ever since he's been on the air. He explained why he wasn't so incredibly wrong about NBC News not covering the story, even though they broke it. "Last night, I talked with Bob Beckel about the difference in analysis on the subject of waterboarding as compared to killing people with drones... I put forth that NBC News and other media places, they were hysterical over waterboarding, but muted over President Obama's drone attacks, at least until yesterday. "Immediately the far-left machine cranked up. 'O'Reilly didn't say that NBC News broke the drone memo story. He's a deceiver!' True. I didn't say NBC broke the memo story because we weren't talking about that. Waterboarding versus drone strikes. So once again, we have a propaganda campaign designed to make ignorant people on the left even more ignorant."
So Bill O'Reilly's defense is basically "I never said NBC News broke the story because I wasn't talking about whether or not they covered it, but HOW MUCH they covered it." Which would be acceptable, were it not for that fact that he actually DID insist at various points that they have said nothing, nada, zip about drones.

Anonymous Hacks into Federal Reserve
As officials in Washington continue to discuss and warn about cyber-attacks, members of Anonymous claimed to have breached a computer system that the Federal Reserve uses to communicate with bankers in emergencies such as natural disasters and potential acts of terrorism. On Super Bowl Sunday, members of the group tweeted that they had compromised 4,000 bankers' credentials from the Federal Reserve.
"Now we have your attention America: Anonymous's [sic] Superbowl Commercial 4k banker d0x via the FED," the group tweeted, using the @OpLastResort handle on Twitter.
"The Federal Reserve System is aware that information was obtained by exploiting a temporary vulnerability in a website vendor product," A Federal Reserve spokesman said in a statement.
"The exposure was fixed shortly after discovery and is no longer an issue. This incident did not affect critical operations of the Federal Reserve System," the spokesman said.
According to officials, the user data from the Emergency Communications System was compromised, but no financial or monetary policy information was on the system that was breached.
According to federal law enforcement officials, the FBI has opened an investigation into the incident. An FBI spokesperson declined to comment.
Recent activity from Anonymous and the reference to Operation Last Resort concern the death of Aaron Swartz, an Internet developer and activist who started the website Reddit. Swartz was indicted by the Justice Department in July 2011 on charges of wire fraud, computer fraud, unlawfully obtaining information from a protected computer and recklessly damaging a protected computer.
Swartz allegedly had downloaded vast information from JSTOR, an online library of academic and scholarly journals and articles that are available for a fee. Swartz believed the articles in JSTOR should be disseminated free of charge. Swartz committed suicide on Jan. 11, 2013 as he believed he was going to be facing a lengthy prison term -- possibly as much as 35 years.
Last month, Anonymous hacked the website of the United States Sentencing Commission, also in response to Swartz's death.
The case has garnered the attention of Congress, with members of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee writing to Attorney General Eric Holder about how the Justice Department handled the case.
The Justice Department has agreed to brief the committee on the Swartz prosecution, but no date has been set on the briefing, according to a Justice official.

Part of DARPA's Project Pegasus as a young child and now a practicing attorney, Andrew D. Basiago claims to be one of America's early time-space explorers. Appearing in the latter half of the show, he discussed his involvement with the CIA's Mars visitation program in 1980. The program, he said, was started in the 1970s, and transported people from a "jump room" (an elevator in El Segundo, CA that served as a kind of portal) to the surface of Mars. According to Basiago, Maj. Ed Dames taught a training course to several of the participants about what to expect in terms of humanoids and "predator species" on the Martian surface (Dames briefly appeared in the 4th hour and denied his involvement with the program). Also joining the show was William Brett Stillings, who said he was in the Mars visitation program in the early 1980s along with Basiago, and such future luminaries as Barry Soetoro (Pres. Barack Obama), and Regina Dugan (the current head of DARPA). Laura Magdalene Eisenhower, the great granddaughter of Pres. Eisenhower, made an appearance as well, revealing that she was the target of a sophisticated recruitment effort to join the Mars colony in 2006-07, though she turned down the opportunity. Basiago announced that he plans to run for President in 2016.

2/7/13 - On Thursday, conservative columnist Michelle Malkin joined the hosts of Fox & Friends to weigh in on the appeal made by celebrities at a press conference on Wednesday for stricter gun laws. Among the celebrities who spoke was comedian Chris Rock. He said that President Barack Obama and the first lady are "the mom and the dad of the country" and they should be listened to as parental figures. Malkin thought that this kind of sentiment, among others by prominent liberals who have confused the president for a family member, is a sign Rock needs "group therapy." "That was a bizarre little appearance," Malkin said of Rock's appeal for new gun laws. "It looked like a hostage video to me." "Maybe it's dawning on him in some sector of his brain that this is not good for his career?" Makin asked. "I don't know a dad who wears mom jeans," Malkin added, taking a dig at the president's fashion sense. "More importantly, we have Chris Rock treating Obama as his father. Sandra Fluke treating Obama as her boyfriend, and Jamie Foxx who said during the campaign that Obama was our 'lord and savior.' These people need group therapy," Malkin concluded. At the end of the interview, Steve Doocy read a quote from actor Bruce Willis who recently spoke out in support of the Second Amendment. Malkin said she was glad to hear some "common sense" from a Hollywood actor.
Judge Napolitano on Obama's Drone Strike Policy: 'This Is the Power Claimed by Kings and Tyrants'
Judge Andrew Napolitano, saying on Fox Business Network earlier today that the Justice Department has "resisted in every forum" attempts to gain access to the legal opinions that the drone policy is based on. He said the government has persuaded judges that releasing the information could threaten national security. "Suddenly it shows up in an NBC newsroom earlier this week! It could only have come from a governmental source. So they really have made fools of the federal judges who've spent hours and days and weeks struggling over the laws involved here," said Napolitano, who called the document itself "breathtaking and chilling" because of the power it grants the government. "It says 'any informed high-level U.S. government official can strip an American of his or her constitutional protections and order the killing of that American if the person is overseas, if it's difficult to arrest that person," said Napolitano, explaining that the memo does not clearly define what "imminent danger" to the United States means. "This is the power claimed by kings and tyrants. This is about as un-American a power as one could imagine," he said.
